Merry Christmas! Well, ok its the day after, but Tis the season still right? I realize this is late, but Christmas is mine and Gabe’s favorite holiday!
I hope everyone enjoyed their christmas and all the fun traditions! Christmas for us is a special time to remember and focus on Jesus’ birth and why that act of love was the greatest gift of all. God sent Jesus, His son to earth to reconcile man back to God. He became poor, born in a lowly manger, stepping down as God and from the Most High in Heaven, to offer the ultimate love and sacrifice for YOU and me. So Christmas is a very meaningful time to us!
We also like to do other fun seasonal things! This year we got to be part of a Christmas production at our church! I danced and Gabe did the lights. It was a beautiful display of dance, live music, carolers and candle light! We got to spend a great deal of time with our (church) family and that was really great. It was definitely the highlight of my christmas season this year!
Here are a few of our other favorite things…
- watching ALL the christmas movies, cheezy or not! But favorites include, Elf, White Christmas, Santa Clause, The Grinch and 12 Dates of Christmas.
-Fresh Balsam candles burning.
-Decorating the Christmas tree together while listening to Christmas music.
-Christmas music of course! Favorite albums are Michael Buble and PENTATONIX.
-Baking Christmas cookies every year with my friend Anna.
- Christmas caroling!!
-NEW TRADITION ALERT!** This year we went to the Christmas light show a few towns over for the first time. It was so cool, we decided this is for sure a new tradition! This guy literally lights up his entire house and yard and programs the lights to go with music on a radio station that you can tune into. Its really cozy and so beautiful! You can check it out here: www.christmasinwadena.com
- Cozying up and reading with a cup of hot coffee/espresso, hot cocoa or any of the alike.
-Giving to those in need. We always chose a family or 2 that are having a hard time and try to help them out with gifts for their kids. #dosomethingniceforsomeoneelse. #loveothers
-And to top it all off, taking photos of the beautiful scenery in the snow! One perk, (and possibly the only one haha) of living in MN!
I know Christmas can be a really hard time of year as well for many who struggle with finances, depression/lonliness, the loss of a loved one. Jesus knows the hurt. He sees the pain. He sees you. He knows you in your gladness and times of trouble. So if this was a not so cheerful year, and more of a hard year, ask Him to give you the peace only He can offer! Seek His presence, He will find you where you are….
So, a sincere Merry Christmas from the bottom of our hearts…
I want to wish all my wonderful clients and friends the merriest of glad tidings and joy! Have a blessed new year!
