Over the last few years of owning a business, I feel like one of the coolest and most important thing I have learned is about marketing. You can be an amazing photographer, but if you don’t know how to sell your product and yourself, you wont get very far. A part of marketing that I find was a turning point for me, was learning how to brand my business. Branding isn’t just about being matchy mcMatcherson with your letterhead and business cards. Its about finding that unique something that you have to offer and building your platform around that. If you haven’t done that yet, its ok! Today is a good day to ask yourself these questions:
Who am I as a person + a photographer?
What can I do that no one else has done?
Who is my target market?
So then there was me. Who am I? What is my brand? I decided that I am a clean freak. I like simple. Less is more in my book. I love the soft romantic colors of spring. I like elegant and classic. I like symmetry. I love brides who value their wedding photos and want to have classic timeless imagery. I love it even more when they like me more than my photos. I enjoy giving my clients a unique experience that is more than just another portrait session. So I designed my website around those ideas. Here’s what I came up with!
My new look:
My old look:
My old site was much more busy. I did decide to keep my name design because I feel like it still fits who I am + the brand I want to establish. I am not an expert, nor do I claim to have all the answers. I simply am just sharing what I feel has been important aspects of business that have helped me move forward. I hope these tips can help you as well!
I hope you like the new look + site! Im excited to finally share it with you “offically!” Please leave your feedback in the comments! Is there something I can make better? Something I can change to better the navigation? Whats your favorite thing about my website? I love to hear from you!
Thank you to these incredibly talented and super nice people that helped me get my website looking and working the way it does! Check them out!
